A coffee shop has opened in the former ATM vestibule of a downtown Lancaster bank.
Deposit Corner Coffee takes a spot at 100 N. Queen St. that has previously housed the cash machine for a Wells Fargo bank branch that closed in 2022. The small, glassed-in space next to Binns Park has five stools at a window counter and also offers some outside seating that will be expanded when the weather warms.
Deposit’s menu includes a variety of coffee drinks such as mochas, lattes and espressos. There are also matcha drinks, tea and smoothies, including some smoothies made with tahini. Pastries are also for sale and some grab-and-go breakfast and lunch sandwiches may also eventually be added.
Deposit is an extension of the Art Vault, a gallery and studio space in the former bank. The new coffee shop is a partnership between the Art Vault owners and George Zagas, the former owner of Aura Espresso Room who now works as a real estate agent. Zagas, who opened Aura in 2017 at 44 N. Queen St., sold that business in 2023.
