Wingstop, which opened its first Lancaster County restaurant last spring in Manheim Township, will be opening a second location next week along Columbia Avenue, just west of Lancaster city.

The new chicken wing restaurant will debut Feb. 17 in a 2,600-square-foot spot in the Wheatland Shopping Center at 1831 Columbia Ave. The space is the former home of Sloppy Jane’s Café & Deli.

The franchisee operator for the new Wingstop in East Hempfield Township is Talon Restaurants, an Allentown-based restaurant group that has eight other Wingstop locations in the region, including the restaurant in Manheim Township at 1957 Fruitville Pike.

Based in Texas and founded in 1994, Wingstop operates and franchises more than 1,900 locations worldwide. In addition to regular and boneless chicken wings, its menu includes chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches and fries.
