The sports and entertainment venue at 650 N. Prince St. in Lancaster city has carried the same name since it opened in 2005, but that changed Wednesday.

What was Clipper Magazine Stadium is now Penn Medicine Park.

The change was announced by Michael Reynolds, president and general manager of the Lancaster Stormers professional baseball team, which has called the stadium home since it openedBeyond just a name change, the new partnership also promises health-conscious events as well as an expansion of healthy food options at the park.

LG Health and the Stormers did not indicate how much money had changed hands in what was described as a decade-long naming rights partnership with LG Health. According to Reynolds, the Stormers themselves have committed to another 20 years in the stadium, which the Stormers oversee. LG Health CEO John Herman said that the organization learned about the possibility to partner with the Stormers this past fall, and called it a "no brainer."

"This partnership will help improve the health of our community for years to come," said Herman before a crowd of LG Health and Stormers employees, as well as Stormers mascot Cylo.

Clipper Magazine Stadium will now be known as Penn Medicine Park after an announcement on February 12

The 8,000-capacity stadium first opened its doors in May 2005, and has hosted everything from the Stormers games and concerts to, most recently, the return of the City of Lancaster’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. In 2022, the park won Ballpark Digest’s Best of the Ballparks MLB Partner League award for the third straight time.

“As the home of the Stormers, Penn Medicine Park will continue to serve as more than just a ballpark—it will be a hub for health, wellness, and community engagement,” Reynolds said in an announcement of the name change. “This collaboration strengthens a shared commitment to community well-being, bringing exciting opportunities to Lancaster and Central Pennsylvania residents both on and off the field.”

This is not the first collaboration between the Stormers and LG Health, as the health system operated the stadium’s initial first aid station when the stadium opened.
