Polly A. Turner, 78, of New Providence went to be with her Lord & Savior at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday January 17, 2024. She and her husband Richard F. Turner celebrated 46 years of marriage. Born in Berwick, PA she was the daughter of the late Paul and Grace Bailets Weiss.
Polly had been employed by Acme markets, serving in many capacities within the store.
She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church where she served as a pianist. She was also a member of Gideon's International and Order of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Grand Matron and the Christian Motorcyclist Association.
Her hobbies and enjoyments were reading, playing the piano, knitting, needlepoint, puzzles of all kinds, going to the beach, and raising alpacas. An avid traveler, she and her husband visited all the lower 48 states on motorcycle. She also traveled to many foreign countries as well.
Surviving beside her husband are 5 children, Christopher (Francia) Turner of Wellington, FL, Minda (Allen III) Mellott of Peach Bottom, Heather (David) Groff of Manheim, Matt (Cindy) Long of Rancho Cordova, CA, Amy (Stephen) Hudler of Kill Devil Hills, NC; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Kenneth Kuehn of Southern Shores, NC; 2 sisters, Dolores (Warren) Scheaffer of Mount Joy, Mary Miller companion of Roy Minet of Mount Joy; and a brother Peter (Karen) Weiss of Manheim.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Kuehn and 2 siblings, Carol Frey and Lynn Sheeler.
Funeral services will be held at New Providence Baptist Church, 2411 Beaver Valley Pike, New Providence, PA on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Ron Rush officiating. A viewing will be held from 8:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
