Saquon Barkley, the Philadelphia Eagles running back and former Penn State star, will be the featured guest at the United Disabilities Services Foundation Gala on May 8 at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square.

Barkley will sit for a fireside chat-style interview, conducted by Eagles insider Dave Spadaro, as part of the event.

Also, there will be an exclusive meet-and-greet session with Barkley prior to the gala. Raffle tickets will be sold from Saturday through March 31 that will give 10 winners access to this part of the event.

Raffle tickets will cost $100; a maximum of 500 will be sold. The drawing to determine the winners will be held April 1 and be live streamed on the UDS Foundation Facebook page.

Raffle tickets can be purchased by cash or check only at the Park City Center from Saturday through Christmas Eve in the Round 1 Wing near the UDSF gift wrap booth. Also, tickets can be purchased through March 31 at the UDSF corporate office at 2270 Erin Court, Lancaster. There also will be the option to reserve raffle tickets online through check or ACH transfer.

Due to state law, credit card payments can’t be accepted for raffle tickets.

Tickets for the gala, which 500 people are expected to attend, will go on sale by the end of January.

The event will include a full-course dinner, silent and live auctions — including three items autographed by Barkley — a live appeal and a wine pull.

Barkley, in his first season with the Eagles after signing as a free agent, leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,688), rushing yards per game (120.6) and yards per scrimmage (1,964). He has scored 13 touchdowns.

He needs to average 139.3 yards per game over Philadelphia’s final three games to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards.

He spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the New York Giants, who drafted him with the second overall pick if the 2018 draft.

In three seasons at Penn State, Barkley rushed for 3,843 yards and 43 touchdowns on 671 carries (5.7 yards per carry). As a receiver, he had 1,195 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He also returned two kickoffs for TDs.

He finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy balloting in 2017, when he also was an All-American.

He helped the Nittany Lions win the 2016 Big Ten championship.

The theme of this year’s gala is the Diamond Jubilee as UDSF will be celebrating 60 years of service in 2025.

Sponsors for the event are still being sought. For more information on the gala and sponsorship opportunities, go to udservices.org or email Development@udsfoundation.org.
