Two Lancaster County teens have been charged with posting an unspecified online threat that prompted one county school district to notify its students and families.
Pennsylvania State Police arrested Garrett Swayne, 19, of Quarryville, and Francy Brisma, 19, of Willow Street, on charges of terroristic threats after officers said the teens posted “a threat to a school.”
Police did not provide details on the threat.
The arrest is related to a Solanco School District message to students’ families early Thursday stating a non-specific threat had been made. The district said a former student was responsible for the posts and that police were called to investigate.
“The police investigated and determined that no threat existed,” the district’s message said. “In this instance, the process ran as it should. We were notified, we involved authorities, we investigated, and then we informed families.”
The teens were taken into custody and arraigned on Thursday, police said. They are free on $500,000 unsecured bail.
The teens have their next hearing scheduled for Jan. 22. Brisma does not have a lawyer listed; Swayne’s attorney, Michael Winters, did not immediately return a request for comment.
