A Salisbury Township motorcyclist died Thursday after colliding with a van just east of Gap.
Joseph Sheesley Jr., 44, of the 700 block of Lime Quarry Road, died at Lancaster General Hospital after a 3:30 p.m. crash less than a half-mile from his home. The responding coroner from the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at 4:10 p.m.
According to state police, a 79-year-old van driver ran the stop sign on County Line Road at Limeville Road and Sheesley was not able to stop in time. Police did not say whether they intend to charge the van driver.
The coroner has not determined Sheesley’s cause and manner of death yet.
